For iPhone, Apple Watch and your walking pad

Your hiker only moves when you do.

Every step and every walking-pad session carries your hiker up a 2,260 km mountain journey. Walk more, and the hiker gets stronger, from First Steps to Summit Legend.

Made for walking pads

Your desk treadmill counts.

On a walking pad your phone sits still, so it barely counts a step. Most step games ignore those walks. Summit Trail reads the workout instead: the energy you burn on the pad becomes distance on the trail.

Start a session from Summit on your Apple Watch and the hiker climbs while you walk, live on your iPhone. When you stop, the finished workout from Apple Health takes over, so nothing counts twice.

Six ranks, four trails, one mountain.

Steps move the hiker along the trail. Active energy makes the hiker stronger. Some camps only open to strong hikers, and steps walked while you wait are kept for when the gate opens.

Something new every day

A small event on the trail each day, a postcard from every camp, patches for what you actually did, and seasonal expeditions like the Haunted Hollow.

Walk with friends

Invite a buddy and see each other on the trail. They see your hiker's name, rank, position and today's steps. Nothing else.

Private by default

The game runs on your iPhone with no account. Sign in with Apple only if you want your trail on a computer or with friends, and delete it any time.

Walk with us during the beta.

Summit Trail is free while we find out what keeps people walking. You need an iPhone with iOS 17 or later; the Apple Watch is optional.
